Throughout his career Michael E. Burnham has completely understood the adage “A picture is worth a thousand words.” “It’s the image that sells,” he says, “whether it’s product or an actor’s headshot, it’s the image that is going to spark the interest of the person looking at it, be they consumer or casting agent.”

Michael’s passion for photography was sparked at the age of 9 when he began borrowing an old camera of his father’s then received his own as a present. His passion discovered and his fate sealed. He was actively improving his knowledge of the medium and his photographic skills throughout his teenage years. After high school he moved to California where he received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in photography from CSU Long Beach, the largest campus in the California State University system. This program focused on the craft and art of photography instructed by a protégé of Ansel Adams.

Using a “client focused” philosophy, Michael Burnham bring years of experience to the table but approaches each new project with a fresh set of eyes. Actively engaging the client to discover and understand what they want before a single image is captured.

12 years experience as a professional photographer with experience in the fields of product photography, modeling and fashion, events, portraiture and fine art.

Since 2004 he’s been represented by an international stock photography agency.

6 years experience as the marketing manager for a company that imports and distributes photo equipment with duties that include, testing new products, representing the company at industry exhibitions, writing the text of all marketing and advertising material, administering the company website and creating press releases for international distribution.

For the past 2 years he has been consulting for several over-seas manufacturers of photography equipment including designing marketing material, product concepts, improving design of existing products and drafting international product descriptions
